Tizrah

I had the opportunity to meet the wonderful Tizrah the other day. She is a rescue dog and, in case you are wondering about the name, she is named after her person’s great-grandmother!

Unfortunately, Tizrah is suffering from a very aggressive form of cancer. She is only 5 years old but her diagnosis is not good. For now, though, she is in great spirits and enjoyed a really fun few hours of photography!

Tizrah does have a tumor in her eye from the cancer, but you almost don’t even notice it because she has such an adorable personality.

She made this funny face in a lot of the shots- you know, the ole’ tooth stuck in the gum look?

The shot on the chair was the very last one we took. By then, I think she had the whole posing thing down pretty well!! She definitely did not want to stop 🙂

Whenever I photograph a dog with cancer, I donate a portion of those proceeds to “2 dogs 2000 miles”. This is the journey of a really amazing guy named Luke Robinson who lost his Great Pyrenees to cancer a few years ago. He decided to raise awareness and support for finding a cure by trekking across the nation with his two dogs.

He has been walking for about a year- in fact, he came through Louisville last January. He’s someone who is trying his best to make some strides in curing canine cancer, which affects 1 in 4 dogs.
